| So, I think I'm done with xanga. I've been using blogspot which just works so much better with photos, so I may not be back around here for a while. We'll see. I just don't have the energy to try to blog on three different blog sites! Maybe see ya later, maybe not!
I will just say though that Marie Antoinette is the coolest movie ever!

| I'm in Japan, and don't really have to time to blog a lot, so I'm only blogging on bonjour-marie.blogspot.com. Sorry, beloved Xanga friends...

| The joy and elation of being engaged is carrying me through the
craziness of my life right now. I just now finished my last assignment
for UNISA, we leave for Japan in three days, I'm almost packed, John
and I have almost finished our registry, oh and we've set a date: 16th
December 2006. Start booking your tickets for the wedding of the
century, as my friend called it! I can say that life is glorious and
life is busy.
Check this out: our wedding website.

| WE'RE ENGAGED!
As of Friday 8th September,
John and I are engaged! We went out for a wonderful crepe dinner and
then he took me to "The End of the World" where the ocean crashes
against the lava rocks and we watched the sunset. John told me that he
wanted to spend the rest of his life watching sunsets with me and then
he asked me to marry him. It was amazing and beautiful and perfect and
I'm over the moon with joy and almost can't believe that we're getting
married!
We will also be posting up pictures in the next week of the ring and other things! I
am so happy and overjoyed. I am already having so much fun looking at
wedding magazines, and starting to think about details. It's so fun to
be talking about honeymoon locations, wedding locations,
bridesmaids/groomsmen, etc. Too much fun. I think it will be hard to be
away from John during the majority of our engagement period, but I know
that this is God's best for us right now and I have peace about it. I'm too excited right now!

| Yes, as of last Thursday, 24th August 2006, John has offically graduated from Taylor University with a degree in Engineering Physics, or Physics Engineering, or whatever it is that his professors were torturing him with!! We all went out last night, 20 of our friends & students from the campus, to celebrate at Outback Steakhouse down town. It was so much fun to be with a "free" John - the stress is gone, the work is gone, and hopefully, soon, the sickness will be gone too! In about 3 weeks, I leave for Japan. And I admit, I don't think it's totally hit me yet, though I am really excited about going. I'm trying not to think about the fact that John and I will be doing the long-distance thing again (and this is super-long-distance, I'll be a whole day away from him!). But, I know, in the long-run, that it will be the best thing for the both of us. We had our first outreach meeting the other day and I'm starting to meet with the students one-on-one and I have to say that I have the best team ever! They really are such a great group, and for those of you who know Sarah Hayhurst (Jonathan Hamilton's girlfriend), yes, I have the pleasure of having her with me on outreach too! Anyway, here's a pic of where we'll be staying near for the first few weeks in Tokyo, yes downtown Tokyo! I'm so excited. I've been stuck in cornfields for the last two years and now I'll finally be back in a real live city!
